Choctawhatchee Bay Eco Tour
Choctawhatchee Bay Eco Tour
Ever wonder more about that massive body of water you most likely passed over on Highway 331 when driving to the beach? Curious about Santa Rosa Beach’s other major body water (no, we’re not talking about the Gulf or the coastal dune lakes)? Then jump in one of our brand new Hobie kayaks and let us take you on a professionally guided eco tour of the Choctawhatchee Bay. Known for a flourishing population of Redfish, Flounder, Spotted Trout, and many crustaceans, you are sure to catch a glimpse of some of this wildlife rippling through the water. Often times, closer to dusk or dawn, pods of dolphin can be seen breaching the surface as well! In this tour, you will be immersed in two hours of the vast expanse of vegetation and wildlife that consider the bay their home, while also burning a few calories! Come join us for a few hours away from the traditional beach scene, and experience an adventure that is sure to end in some quality yakking!
This tour is recommended for anyone interested in wildlife, kayaking, paddleboarding and taking the adventure less traveled.

What’s the difference between a Hobie Outback Kayak and a Hobie Mirage Eclipse?
A Hobie Mirage Outback is a versatile craft for kayak fishing or those looking for a stable ride. It offers a great balance of stability, speed, comfort and maneuverability. With the new Vantage CT seating system, you’ll gain 3 customizable height and all new reclining options. We recommend this for those looking to sit back and pedal through the tour.
A Hobie Mirage Eclipse is a stand up paddleboard that brings a new level of versatility to the sport. This incredibly stable board is fun and easy to use for beginners and experienced paddleboarders alike. Rudder controls on the handle bars make steering the Eclipse easy and intuitive. We recommend this for those looking for more of a fitness experience on the tour.
How many people can go on the tour?
There is a maximum of 9 people per tour and there must be a minimum of 2 for the tour to take place.
What should I bring/wear?
We suggest wearing clothing you don’t mind potentially getting wet. We also suggest bringing a towel, sunscreen, bug repellant, a hat, sunglasses and a sweatshirt or sweater in case it gets chilly. We also recommend bringing any drinks or snacks you might like as well.
