The Best Local Coffee Shops on The Emerald Coast

A trip to the beach may be about escaping the daily grind back home, but the coffee grind is one we never leave behind! We asked local baristas at Amavida and Black Bear to pick 5 of the best drinks on the menu.

Amavida Coffee Roasters

Locations: Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Miramar Beach, Panama City

Aside from its prime locations, what makes this place special? For one, their coffee is certified organic. Secondly, they believe in environmentally friendly practices to help manage waste, conserve water, use energy efficiently, and reduce harmful emissions. Lastly, by purchasing their specialty coffees from Mexico and the Republic of Congo, donations are made to support the work of Project Chiapas and Project Congo. There’s not a local on 30A who hasn’t heard of Amavida!

Top 5 picks on the menu
recommended by Bianca and Dale:

  1. Nitro Cold Brew (very smooth)
  2. Cortado
  3. Honey Latte
  4. Iced Matcha
  5. Pour Over Coffee

What we ordered:
Iced Honey Latte.

With a unique combination of honey and cinnamon, it’s a cool-down combination perfect for poolside lounging or walking around town.

Black Bear Bread Co.

Location: Grayton Beach

The most hipster coffee shop in the area, the Black Bear Bread Co. has latte art, a letter board, separate bar room, and of course, their famous homemade bread. It’s a tight squeeze when busy, but a great place to socialize with friends and leashed pets on the outside deck.
